Pharmacological Classification:

Mechanism of Action:Doxazosin mesylate selectively inhibits postsynaptic alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, resulting in vasodilation of arteries and veins. This reduces peripheral vascular resistance and lowers blood pressure. In BPH, it relaxes the smooth muscles in the bladder neck and prostate, improving urine flow.
