Introduction of product

Ethopabate is a veterinary medication used to prevent and treat coccidiosis in chickens. The drug, an arylamide with one phenyl ring that belongs to monocyclic aromatics, is very safe. Its anticoccidial activity is limited to intestinal forms and nonexistent against E. tenella of caecal worms. A competitor of PABA, this drug hinders folate synthesis by parasites. It is effective against E. acervulina, E. maxima and E. brunette. At first, it was combined with Amprolium at 4 ppm and later at 40 ppm. On the 4th day of the cycle, this drug shows its peak activity. AMPROL PLUS (amprolium, ethopabate) is marketed as a coccidiosis prevention aid in broiler chickens, as well as replacement chickens where immunity to coccidiosis is not desired.

How does it work?

The drug Athopabate is used to treat chickens suffering from coccidiosis as well as for prophylaxis. An arylamide containing one phenyl ring belongs to monocyclic aromatic compounds, which are very safe.

Applications. Or where it is used

In the feed, Amprol PLUS (amprolium, ethopabate) should be thoroughly and evenly mixed. Type C medicated feed can be manufactured using AMPROL PLUS in the concentration range of 0.0125% - 0.025% amprolium and 0.0004% ethopabate. It is recommended to blend one pound of AMPROL PLUS with one ton of non-medicated feed to produce Type C medicated feed containing 0.0125% amprolium and 0.0004% ethopabate.

How to use

Ethopabate in combination with other drugs can inhibit the discharge of infected giant Eimeria oocysts in chickens as well as block the synthesis of tetrahydrofolate in the para-aminobenzoic acid-folic acid metabolic pathway for an anti-coccidial effect. The drug is effective as well as non-toxic, non-mutagenic, non-carcinogenic, and it does not accumulate in poultry.
