Introduction of product:

The calcium channel blocker medication nifedipine, sold under the brand name Adalat among others, is used for the management of angina, hypertension, Raynaud's phenomenon, and preterm labor. Prinzmetal angina is treated with this method. During pregnancy, it may be used to treat severe hypertension.

How does it work:

A calcium channel blocker such as Nifedipine belongs to the class of medicine called calcium channel blockers. It works by preventing calcium from entering the heart and blood vessels muscles if you have high blood pressure. The muscle cells contract when calcium is present, so when you block calcium, the muscles relax.

Applications. Or where it is used:

If you have high blood pressure, you should take nifedipine. By taking nifedipine, you can prevent heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes. Chest pain caused by angina can be treated with Nifedipine. There are times when it's used for treating Raynaud's phenomenon and chilblains.

Manufacturing process:

An important aspect of the present process is granulating a therapeutically active agent, such as nifedipine, with inactive ingredients, like hydroxypropyl cellulose ether. If necessary, the granules are dried and micronized. They may also be dried, if necessary.

Dosage of usage:

Adult dosage (ages 1864 years)

Starting dose is 30mg or 60mg once per day. Up to a maximum dosage of 90120 mg per day can be increased every 714 days.

Child dosage (ages 017 years)

A study of this medication in children has not been conducted. It should not be used by anyone younger than 18 years of age.

Senior dosage (ages 65 years and older)

An older adult may have less efficient kidneys. Drugs may be processed more slowly by your body due to this. Consequently, you receive more of the drug over time. You are therefore at risk for side effects. A different schedule of medication or a lowered dose may be prescribed to you by your doctor. This can help keep the drug levels in your body from rising too high.

Dosage for vasospastic angina

Adult dosage (ages 1864 years)

Starting dose is 30mg or 60mg once per day. You can increase the dosage up to 180 mg per day every seven to fourteen days.
