How does it work:

Omeprazole belongs to the group of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPI). A proton pump is a small substance embedded in the lining of the stomach that helps it make acid for digestion. The drug Omeprazole stops proton pumps from working. This reduces stomach acid production

Dosage of usage:

  • Dosage for duodenal ulcer or stomach infection
  • Adult dosage (ages 18 years and older)

Active duodenal ulcer

20 mg taken once every day for up to 4 weeks. Treatment for some people may take longer than 4 weeks.

Dosage for gastric (stomach) ulcer

  • Adult dosage (ages 18 years and older)
  • Typical dosage: 40 mg taken once per day for 4 to 8 weeks.
  • Child dosage (ages 16€“17 years)\
  • Typical dosage: 40 mg taken once per day for 4 to 8 weeks

The side effects of this drug differ slightly between children and adults.

Adult side effects can include:

Warnings and precautions while using this product:
