How does it work

The thiocolchicoside possesses a selective and potent affinity for g-aminobutyric acid A (GABA-A) receptors, and thus acts on contractures by activating inhibitory pathways, acting as a powerful muscle relaxant. Human cortex contains a dominant inhibitory neurotransmitter, Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

Applications Or where it is used

Muscle relaxants such as Thiocolchicoside are prescribed to treat painful conditions of the muscles. The nervous system receptors responsible for regulating muscle function are believed to be targeted by this substance. Skeletal muscle spasms are relieved by it. By working on the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, it relieves muscle stiffness and spasms without reducing strength.

Often used as a supportive medicine, it will ease pain associated with spinal cord disease such as muscle spasms and stiff backs or vertebrae, back or low back pain, twisted and painful neck and other severe injuries.
